About
I am interested in women and religion in early American history. I also enjoy working on urban studies, ethnic studies and migration/Atlantic World.
I recently completed an article to be published next year in the Max Kade Research Series that examines the process of German identity formation in early eighteenth-century Philadelphia.
I am currently working on an article on Pennsylvania German marriage practices in the years preceding the American Revolution.
My dissertation examined inter-ethnic and inter-denominational marriages in eighteenth-century Philadelphia. I discovered that denominational affiliation played a much greater role in personal decisions than previously thought. I am currently revising the dissertation into a book manuscript.
I recently started a position as an assistant professor at Southern Connecticut State University. I teach US History to 1865, American Family, Connecticut History, Colonial America, American Revolution, and Religion in America.
